Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in health and fitness but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Kim Wood-Oaks, Owner of Method Lagree, located in Ventura, CA, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

My business provides whole body strength and endurance training, using the Lagree Method and executed on the Megaformer. My clients are anyone of any age who wants a stronger, more aligned body.

Tell us about yourself

A competitive athlete with a result of joint and spine damage. I was introduced to the Lagree Method a decade ago. Within the first minute of the first move, I knew I had found my forever fitness love. By the end of the 40-minute class, I was sweating and shaking and planning my next move to open my own studio. Every day I wake up to the challenge of impacting people's lives in a powerful and positive way. I have built a community that extends beyond the workout where friends and relationships have been built.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Surviving the Covid lockdown! Creating a community of connected humans.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

"Find what you love and call it work." Nothing about what I do is hard. I'm in love with Lagree.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Love what you do.
  2. Don't expect to get rich.
  3. You are only as good as your team.
