Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in health and wellness but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Sara Youner, Founder of Morning Light Acupuncture, located in Springfield, NJ, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

I have an acupuncture practice. My customers are anyone who wants to feel better, sleep better or have more energy using traditional Chinese medicine and herbal formulas.

Tell us about yourself

I love practicing acupuncture and Chinese medicine, but what got me started as a solo business owner was being laid off from my law job after almost 15 years. I needed more hours than my other part-time jobs could provide! I know I can go to work and help people feel better.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Being a business owner has really forced me to move out of my comfort zone, meet new people, and learn new skills. And just put me in front of people.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

You are responsible for how your business does, just you. It is kind of scary.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Research the location where you want to put your business to see if it is really a good idea.
  2. Line up your funding.
  3. Know exactly who your clients are.

Is there anything else you'd like to share?

There is nothing like the feeling of walking into your own business with your name on the door.

Where can people find you and your business?
