Partnering With Leaders, Teams & Organizations - MSBCoach

Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in leadership development but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Michelle Braden, CEO of MSBCoach, LLC, located in Charlottesville, VA, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

MSBCoach is a boutique leadership/executive coaching firm located in central Virginia, partnering with leaders, teams, and organizations globally. Our customers are typically mid-size businesses; however, more than the size of the business is the mindset of the leadership. Our customers/partners are leaders and team members who have the desire to grow, learn, inspire and continue to improve to be the best version of themselves possible for their team, colleagues, and customers.

Tell us about yourself

I started MSBCoach (which stands for Managing Successful Balance) in 2007. My drive and commitment that motivates me each day is being a leader who encourages and inspires my own team to be their best as well as working with leaders to see them go from great to greater... to experience breakthroughs they did not think were possible, to be more compassionate, better communicators, more visionary, managing conflict more effectively, whatever their desired area of growth is, that is what we focus on...This is what gets me going each day.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Growing a coaching business with a strong reputation and thriving for 15 years... one of our values as a company is a growth mindset. I strive to encourage not only my team and those I coach to be constantly growing, but I also do the same for myself.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

As a small business, we all fill many roles. Coming from a corporate background where there are a lot of people to do all of the jobs... it was a learning curve to realize when the printer is not working, I have to figure it out, computer problems (gotta go to BestBuy), office is out of water... guess what... etc. However, it is worth it!

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Have a plan.
  2. Have meaningful support from people who what you to be successful and will support and challenge you.
  3. Learn from failure and keep going... tenacity, tenacity, tenacity!
