Educating the Future Fitness Leaders - My Fitness Brain™

What's your business, and who are your customers?

When you think about the fitness industry, you probably think about a gym or a physical location that houses health buffs, fitness fanatics, and people looking to get their health and fitness in check, right? Sure, five years ago, that was the norm, and that was what the fitness industry was all about. Fitness professionals would "lend" their services to bigger institutions that charged a premium fee, and in return, the fitness professional would have access to all the clients, equipment, and as much of the facility as they could handle... Which was a minimal amount, to say the least.

Let's take your average personal trainer or physiotherapist who operated in their local gym as an example...

Due to their lack of business skills and their ability to generate high-quality clients, they were never really able to unlock their maximum potential and truly utilize their gym as they would have liked to. Why might you ask?
Well, quite simply because they were too busy stressing out about where their next client was going to come from instead of working with people like their jobs intended them to.

And that's exactly why the fitness industry has evolved, but sadly the fitness professionals in the industry have not. Why not? Well, quite simply because they don't have the knowledge needed to evolve, nor have they been taught what to do in a rapidly changing environment. That's where My Fitness Brain™ comes in - We aim to revolutionize the fitness industry by educating the future leaders of tomorrow with accurate, in-depth, battle-tested, and proven information and physical application, ensuring that each fitness professional who we work with has an arsenal of knowledge at their disposal coupled with practical application and a skill set so diverse, that their businesses have no choice but to grow.

We work from scratch, breaking down false beliefs, nurturing each fitness professional through education, and providing a place to put their knowledge to the test and turn it into a skillset that will enable them to advertise their businesses more effectively, build better structures that will enable them to scale their businesses, work with technology which will enable them to take their businesses online (the new and improved fitness industry is already digital and advancing at a rapid pace, each and every day) and most of all, build a stable income, month after month which will enable them to live the lives of their dreams.

At My Fitness Brain™, we believe in innovation, and we are continuously inventing new approaches for fitness professionals around the world to implement into their businesses to have them enjoy the process all over again and make money as they do. The fitness industry has changed forever and will continue to change in the future. The only way to stay ahead of the curve is to understand the basic principles of business, which serve as the "northern star" to success. Take your average fitness professional and show them the "northern star," and there's no telling how successful they will become. To find out more, head on over to My Fitness Brain™ as a world of new possibilities awaits your eager mind.

Tell us about yourself

My name's Michael Coovadia, and over the last five years, I have built two global fitness businesses which operate in more than five continents and nine countries around the world. My businesses are highly successful and turn an average of 6 figures per month.

Things weren't always like this for me...
I was your average personal trainer battling to make an income and battling to be able to afford life, mainly because my fitness education had failed me. I learned how to work with clients, but I never learned how to actually generate clients. As soon as I made that realization, everything changed for me. From a young age, I was fascinated by bodybuilding and the awe-inspiring physiques that walked the floors of the gyms. Guys like Arnold Schwarzenegger inspired me, but when diving deeper, I realized it wasn't just his body that did; it was the success he had acquired in multiple careers. I dedicated my life to fitness and to helping others reach their maximum potential. It was only once I realized that fitness was not a lifestyle without the business skills to turn it into one did I become massively successful.

My motivation no longer stems from me wanting to be the best but instead by wanting to raise the bar for what fitness professionals can achieve on a global scale. This motivates my entire team and me to build and develop new products which shape the way fitness professionals view the fitness industry. I took my hobby and turned it into a massively successful career that takes me all around the world (you can find more on my Instagram -> Michael Coovadia) doing what I love, and there's absolutely no reason why you can't do the same if you believe in something and are willing to work, both hard and SMART to get what you want.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

In the beginning, it was building one successful fitness business; then it was building another fitness business, then it was scaling them to 6 figures... Now, my biggest accomplishment is being able to live life on my terms, as I wish, with the freedom to be anything I want to be, do anything I want to do, and have anything I choose to have. I truly live my life according to a quote from Brian Tracey, which reads, "Make your life a masterpiece. Imagine no limitation on what you can be, have or do." Most importantly, however, the accomplishment I hold dearest to my heart will always be the role model I serve as to the students (fitness professionals) in My Fitness Brain™

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

Being resilient. Building a business can be an impossible task; the job of every entrepreneur is to find a way to make it possible.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Learn > Learn every single day, and open your mind to new information and ideas. Without Learning, you'll never be able to grow.
  2. Read > treat every single day as an awesome school day. The only way your business will ever grow is if you grow, and one of the best ways for you to grow as an individual is by reading.
  3. Do/Implement > too many business owners have way too many ideas which they think "will change the world," yet 1% of all those ideas actually make it and come alive. Why? Because there is no action. Without taking massive action and implementation, you will never be successful.

Is there anything else you'd like to share?

"Success is the relentless pursuit of understanding and developing ideas to move towards solving a problem or achieving a goal." - Michael Coovadia.
