What's your business, and who are your customers?
Mythology is a whiskey & gin distillery that brings friends together to share stories over great whiskey & cocktails. Our customers seek out new experiences, live an active lifestyle, and are looking for a brand of great spirits that reflects their lifestyle.
Tell us about yourself
Drinking whiskey with friends on backcountry ski trips and camping in the summer sparked my interest in starting a brand that reflects this active lifestyle. I was enjoying whiskey and craft cocktails at a small distillery in Haines, AK, while on a backcountry ski trip, and we thought, "Hey, let's do this in Colorado!" We've built an awesome team that motivates each other, and I'm especially motivated by our customers that really connect to the brand.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Getting open was step #1, and since then, receiving 60+ awards and being named Colorado's Top Distillery has been a huge reinforcement of what we set out to do.
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
I wish I could spend each day on the production floor, meeting with our retail partners and then enjoying cocktails with customers. Some days this dream is a reality, but many are filled with administrative duties that allow us to build.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
