What's your business, and who are your customers?
Naked n Natural is a natural plant-based body care company. We serve all, from adults to children.
Tell us about yourself
I always knew that I wanted to own my own business, but I wasn’t sure what direction I wanted to take. Then one day, a coworker heard me talking about essential oil and carrier oils and their benefits (I had just handed a blend of lavender and peppermint essentials with jojoba oil that I made); when he saw firsthand how quickly it worked, he was impressed. He told me he liked my knowledge and passion and Recommended that I start a business; at first, I tried to brush his words off, but he was persistent. I finally heard him and decided to put my knowledge to use. What motivates me is knowing that I’m helping and benefiting everyone, no matter their race, sex, or creed.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
To still be in business for close to 10 years and remain true to my business model is something that I’m pretty proud of.
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
Not feeling overwhelmed with all that you want to accomplish.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- The first step is the hardest; start with that. Don’t be afraid to take the first step.
- Surround yourself with people who genuinely want to help you and route for your success.
- Be diligent in gaining new knowledge to help grow your business.
