Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in personal development but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Nicole Isler, an Intuitive Energy Strategist & Dream Channeler based in Hartford, WI, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

My business is Epic Living with Nicole Isler. As founder of Big Dream University, I channel big dreams as an Intuitive Energy Strategist. My amazing clients are colorful, magical, creative, and sensitive souls who love to dream big with their OOTB ideas. I want my clients to know they matter and deserve to have their dazzling dreams come true.

Tell us about yourself

As a little girl, I was drawn to everything magical, and I believed the world was a happy place for me to explore. I loved to play and laugh, share my OOTB ideas, and make people smile. As I grew older, not much changed as far as what I loved; I just found myself expressing it less and less. Things happened in my life that made me feel like there was something wrong with me like I didn't quite fit in. I went from being a dreamy little girl to feeling like a misfit. I spent much of my life trying to figure it out, doing what I thought I was supposed to do, and trying to be like everyone else. I played the role I thought would make me feel 'normal.' What I didn't realize was that I was 'normal'; I was my kind of normal.

So many creative dreamers feel like I did, like they don't belong. They doubt their OOTB ideas, second-guess their choices, doubt their potential, and hesitate to fully step out as who they are - just like I used to. It breaks my heart that anyone would ever feel that way when they have so much to offer the world. I love to make my fellow creatives who love to dream big with their sensitive and kind hearts feel understood, seen, and know that their dreams matter. They deserve to have their dreams come true. I stay motivated and inspired every day to help them channel their big dreams and share their OOTB ideas with the world.

My mission is to encourage others to believe in magic, connect to their highest self to unlock their highest potential, and inspire them to make their big dreams come true. Because our dreams need us to make them real, as an uplifter, I believe if we all do this, we can make our world better for all.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Leading with my MVP Method. (Mission, Values, Purpose). To know I'm living my MVP every day, helping others, and that I'm on the path I'm meant to travel and share what I've learned along the way is so incredibly satisfying and fulfilling. It only gets better every day, and every client helped, and every life improved. I'm creating my legacy by living my "Big Dream Lifestyle" and teaching others to do the same.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

Seeing someone with unlimited potential and big dreams. Inspiring OOTB ideas that won't believe in themselves or invest in their own growth. I can't do it for them. I cannot put that belief in someone. I can only draw it out of them. But if a person will not allow this process to happen, if they deny their own transformation, those big dreams and OOTB ideas stay locked up in their someday box, and they continue to suffer, second-guess, and go without all the magic that is available for everyone. I want everyone to experience their big dreams, the feeling of transformation, and the undeniable joy of creating what was once only an idea in their mind. When I can show them how to live the Big Dream Lifestyle, everything starts to feel like magic. So it's hard to see someone too full of fear to allow that to unfold.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Start today! Whether it's mapping your ideas out on paper, taking one small step, or admitting it's what you truly want - just say yes to your soul. You don't need every detail figured out to begin. You just need to say yes and start adding to your plan. So many things will evolve and change over time anyway. Your ideas will flourish more strongly if you allow them to be.
  2. Learn from experts who are achieving what you want but do NOT abandon your own ideas in the process. It's easy to see and hear things online that sound good and seem like the answer you're looking for but never allow those strategies to shadow your own inspiration. This is many times what I help my clients to clarify. What is their most aligned strategy vs. what they think they should do. Nothing will help you grow faster than your own inspiration, excitement, and enthusiasm for what you're offering the way you want to offer it.
  3. It's a million % okay to be original in your approach or process! You don't need to look like anyone else online, in business, or do things the way others are doing them, even if they seem like they're hitting home runs. Be true to yourself in your own business. This gets to be fun. Approach your business with a playful mind, allow your OOTB ideas to run wild, and ask yourself what feels good for you, how you can make it work, or do it in a way that feels right for you. If your energy feels run down, if your day feels mundane, find ways to make it all feel magical again. That's when you'll make leaps and bounds in your progress!
