Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in personal and business development but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Nicole Lewis-Keeber, Founder and Owner of Nicole Lewis-Keeber Coaching, located in Mountville, PA, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

I have a business therapy and training business. I work with small biz owners, entrepreneurs, and leaders.

Tell us about yourself

I have a Master's Degree in Social Work, and I am an LCSW. I left direct practice to start working with small biz owners on their money mindset. What I recognized early on in my work was that my clients were not having mindset issues; they were experiencing trauma responses in their money and businesses. So I began doing research on the impact of trauma and entrepreneurship and worked directly with founders, business owners, entrepreneurs, and leaders to uncover the anatomy of a traumatized business.

We talk about trauma in the world of personal and business development. We call it burnout, anxiety, and stress, which is problematic. We must call it what it is, trauma is pervasive and has an impact on business ownership, entrepreneurship, and leadership. We cannot fix what we do not acknowledge.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

I am the go-to expert on trauma and entrepreneurship. My coaching and programs are one of a kind. I am a sought-after speaker on this topic and a trusted resource.

I wrote a book called How to Love Your Business which was a huge accomplishment for me as it took several years to make it happen.

I had the privilege of training directly with Dr. Brene' Brown to facilitate her Dare to Lead TM processes with leaders all over the world.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

One of the hardest things about being a business owner is that it is a high dive into personal development whether you like it or not. It will bring up your shit. It is hard to recognize how trauma may be impacting your business structure and how you should up for yourself, your clients, and your employees.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Get a business therapist like me.
  2. Examine the underlying needs you have for this business to be successful. What is your emotional attachment to it?
  3. Trust is going to be invaluable. If you cannot trust yourselves and others, growing will be stunted.
