Northeast Cycle - Dana Dobrowolski

Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in health and fitness but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Dana Dobrowolski, Founder of Northeast Cycle, located in Philadelphia, PA, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

My business is Northeast Cycle, and we offer indoor cycling classes to the Northeast Philadelphia area. Our customers are men and women of all ages who enjoy an energetic and fast-paced workout in a no-judgment environment.

Tell us about yourself

I got started because I realized that Northeast Philly didn't really have any boutique-type fitness studios, and I wanted to change that. Each day I am motivated by the passion of our instructors and the community our riders and instructors have created.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

My biggest accomplishment is creating a community where I see our instructors and riders empowering each other and having pride in one another.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

The unexpected. Sometimes the smallest issue can create a bigger problem, so you need always to be prepared to handle whatever comes your way and know when to ask for help.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Learn how to handle critical feedback.
  2. If something seems too good to be true, it probably is, so be cautious.
  3. Ask for help when you need it.
