What's your business, and who are your customers?

I am a Private Vegan Chef who offers cooking classes and catered events. I am an Intuitive Nourishment Guide. This means I focus on supporting others in their mindful eating practices along with overall wellness.

Tell us about yourself

I attended culinary school in 2008. After leaving school, I was diagnosed with four autoimmune diseases. After being bedridden three months a year for approximately three years, I decided to take charge of my health by changing my diet to plant-based living. I taught myself how to cook without meat, dairy, and eggs. This experience inspired me to create my business.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Helping others to connect to their food in a way they had never felt or experienced before when they were following the Standard American Diet. Providing resources and knowledge in the area of the plant-based lifestyle.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

Turning down business that required me to cook meat, dairy, or eggs.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Plan every detail of your operating schedule and finances before investing in Marketing.
  2. Be passionate with a specific purpose.
  3. Donate your time to help charities instead of paying exorbitant marketing or advertising fees. Networking can be accomplished by investing your time and energy toward a good cause or organization.

Is there anything else you'd like to share?

I specialize in creating comfort food that is densely nutritious but also colorful with no allergens.
