Comfort Zone to Growth Zone - NRJI

Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Al-Karim Chatur, Founder of NRJI, located in Oakville, ON, Canada.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

My mission is to bridge the gap and help 6 figure entrepreneurs overcome overwhelm, manage work pressure, and master emotional intelligence without sacrificing well-being or performance.

Tell us about yourself

Over the course of my life, I’ve come to one conclusion; Energy is Everything. Whether it’s the world around us or the constructs within ourselves, energy is what dictates existence.

Hello, My name is AlKarim Chatur; I am from Ontario – Canada. My business is called NRJI, a play on words for ENERGY - I am a seasoned intrapreneur. I help business owners and professionals increase their Emotional Quotient by helping them work from the inside to out create, and design the life they desire. I do that from my unique position of bringing a fusion of Business acumen in my consulting, empathy in my coaching, and intuition from my energy practice.

I spent most of my life in a high-stress business environment. I know how easy it is to fall off the course you planned, resulting in overwhelm that is expressed in the form of fear, anger, and frustration. My goal is to revitalize my clients’ perceptions. To get them to design and create the life they desire – One that is full of Love, Joy, and Abundance. I was in the furniture industry for the last 20 years of my career. It was challenging work that always felt like an uphill battle. I felt like I was stuck with no way out – reminding me of the movie Falling Down with Michael Douglas, where he describes his position as one where the distance traveled was further than the distance back. Therefore, I was always convinced that I had to battle this out.

Sometimes, it was like digging my grave or just spinning wheels. No matter what I did – It was never the right thing or the right time. I turned to doing the only thing I’d learned: working hard, which resulted in an emotional imbalance, lack of personal care, creativity, and intuition. While I saw everyone around me growing and enjoying life, I knew in my heart that I was capable of much more, but I was seeing no change. Little did I know at that time that other forces were at play.

During this time, there were numerous signs for me to walk away from it and do something different- I ignored them. And then, one day, in late 2017, I got a call that our business building was on fire. This unfortunate incident forced me to shut down the business and put me in a very dark place. It was then that I was introduced to how one’s energy plays a huge role in how one manifests their life. Where the focus goes, the energy flows. That has become my mantra. I now understand how my negative emotions, fear, and anxiety were attracting all that I was trying to overcome.

I draw on real-world experience to deliver first-rate business consulting and coaching. I infuse the energy philosophy of an aligned mind, body, and spirit. I have helped various hallmark organizations and individuals reflect, isolate, and implement the true purpose of their lives by coaching them to do it on their own terms. My holistic approach allows for greater breakthroughs as clients move from Resistance to Allowance. I offer 1-1 coaching, public speaking, and Group coaching.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

After the fire - I lost everything and started again. The lessons I learned are what I help my clients understand to be able to live the life they desire. We have the power to manifest and architect our destiny. The stickiness of what we hold on to, including our emotions and past, holds us back. We end up vibrating at that lower frequency which in turn results in attracting the same things we are trying to overcome.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

One of the most difficult things for business owners is overcoming their EGO. We, as business owners, fall into the trap of thinking that we have to have the answers for everything. Letting go of the EGO is letting the energy flow so that you become more vulnerable, allowing you to give but more so receive fully.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Have a passion for what you do. Without passion, you will lose the drive.
  2. Enjoy the journey. There are no nescafe solutions. If you work towards your goals every day, you will have new destinations to enjoy every day.
  3. Give more in value than you demand in money.

Is there anything else you'd like to share?

Practice gratitude as that is the best attitude.
