What's your business, and who are your customers?
I am a healthcare copywriter, and I create content for healthcare companies that need online content written for their medical audiences.
Tell us about yourself
I have a business degree from CSU, Chico, and then I moved to Las Vegas and received a nursing degree. I've been a nurse since 2018 and have been a healthcare copywriter/business owner for two of those years. I love translating technical and medical information into easy-to-understand pieces of information, and I love combining my two degrees in healthcare digital marketing.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Leaving the bedside and branching out on my own full-time has been my biggest accomplishment so far. I have worked with many amazing companies that are doing incredible things in healthcare right now.
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
Being a solopreneur has its pros and cons. The hardest thing for me is that I'm the only one, so I have to stay focused on which direction I want to steer my business while simultaneously being the one who is actually running the business and working inside it.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Start because you will never feel ready.
- Learn how to rest. You will never get anywhere if you just keep spinning your wheels.
- Don't listen to anyone but yourself because no one else will get it.
