Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in health and wellness but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Victoria Franca, founder of Omne Wellness, located in Miami, FL, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

I'm Victoria, a Certified Functional Diagnostic Nutrition Practitioner and founder of Omne Wellness. I help career-driven individuals who are feeling the burden of stress focus on their mental and physical wellness by guiding them through a bio-individual protocol addressing diet, rest, exercise, stress reduction, and supplementation. My clients are mainly women between the ages of 20-35 who are feeling symptoms of hormonal imbalance like weight gain, fatigue, acne, hair loss, stress, and anxiety.

Tell us about yourself

My journey with wellness began several years ago. I have always been a health and wellness enthusiast but caught in a cycle of trial and error when it came to my own mental and physical wellness. A few years into my career, I began having several hormone challenges, very uncomfortable stomach pains, severe bloating, nausea, adult acne, and severe fatigue. That’s when I began to look for the root cause of my symptoms versus relying on treating the symptom.

I then became certified as a Functional Diagnostic Nutrition Practitioner and focused on a mind, body, and soul approach to healing myself. As I was able to heal my body by figuring out the root cause of symptoms, Omne Wellness came to life.

As a Functional Diagnostic Nutrition Practitioner, I help guide my clients through understanding the root cause of their symptoms and give them the right tools to improve their mental and physical wellbeing. Through breakthrough Functional Diagnostic Testing and analysis, I help them uncover the hidden causes of why they feel the way they are and create a specific plan tailored just for them.

What motivates me every day is knowing that there are women out there that feel the way I felt, and I am able to help them feel better and get to the root cause of their symptoms.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Launching my business at the beginning of the pandemic was a huge accomplishment because I had to do a lot of shifting and adapting from day one. It taught me a lot about entrepreneurship from the start, and I am happy that is how my journey began.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

Being a business owner means work never stops. It's interesting because most people become business owners because they want to get away from the 9-5 schedule, but in reality, entrepreneurship is 24hrs, all day - every day. That makes it exciting but also difficult when you really need to unplug.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Set boundaries for yourself in your business. For me, this looks like scheduling my workout and self-care time before putting in meetings, client protocols, and projects on the calendar. I cannot show up for others if my glass is half empty. Pour into yourself first!
  2. Find a community of like-minded people to grow and share with. My friend group was not entrepreneurial, so I had to meet other entrepreneurs that understood my new lifestyle and the challenges that come with it. Otherwise, it can feel lonely to do it by yourself if you are a solopreneur.
  3. Dream bigger, and always remember your WHY. I noticed at the beginning that I didn't dream as big as I should have. I had a vision of what I wanted the business to be, but dreaming BIG wasn't something that was easy for me to do. Once I was able to cast that LARGE vision, things started to shift in my business. It always went back to the WHY I decided to open Omne Wellness in the first place, and it's an incredible journey.

Is there anything else you'd like to share?

Don't compare your business journey to someone else's highlight reel. I think with social media, it is so easy to look at your "competitor" and compare yourself to their story, but the truth is you are most likely comparing yourself at year 2 of your business to someone who is at year 10 of their business. It's not the same; they are most likely only sharing the good stuff and not the behind-the-scenes struggles every entrepreneur goes through.
