Embodied Healing & Wholeness - Opening Spaces

Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in health and wellness but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Chris Morris, Owner of Opening Spaces, located in San Diego, CA, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

Opening Spaces helps folks heal and live their best life. We work with clients that have pain or wounds in the physical, emotional, mental, or spiritual realms. Clients who come to us have a desire to heal and grow, work with deeply held patterns, and learn the self-development tools necessary to be in clear contact with their True or Authentic Self. Clients that come to Opening Spaces often create shifts on foundational levels, create clarity about who they are and what they're here to do, and discover how to move forward with guidance.

Tell us about yourself

I have always been a deep listener and have always had a strong desire to help people feel better, to help them lighten up their load. I love helping people discover their pain points, how to hold compassion and care for themselves and how they move in the world. And when they find and lean into their gifts and strengths and begin to trust themselves, that is priceless!

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Oh, wow, that's tough to pick one! A big one was developing confidence in myself as a practitioner, creating a business, and having it be successful. Now a big benchmark has been shifting from the mindset of being self-employed to being an entrepreneur and reaching a wider audience.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

For me, it's been finding ways to automate what I can and use my time most effectively. My husband and I have owned businesses our whole life together, and my father was an entrepreneur, so I've learned how to take time off, which can be hard to do when you own a business.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Get clear on why you're in business besides making money.
  2. Get clear on your messaging to your clients - who you can best serve and how you can benefit them.
  3. Be authentically you, even if that seems like you'll be working outside of social norms.

Is there anything else you'd like to share?

Living from our authentic selves is our birthright. As we learn to embody and live from this space of our True self, which is paradoxically incredibly challenging, we help the world become a more loving and compassionate place.
