Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in real estate but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Danny Rosenberg, Co-Founder of PAIRE, located in Benicia, CA, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

We are a real estate matchmaking service dedicated to helping home buyers and sellers find the RIGHT agent to help them with their process based on their design preferences, lifestyle needs, communication style, and more. We work with ANY consumers across the US, but our primary customers are first-time buyers (and sellers), investors, and relocators moving to new markets.

Tell us about yourself

We are husband and wife, married for ten years, with complimentary backgrounds in real estate, interior architecture, and hospitality (Sophia), and marketing, branding, and brand strategy (Danny). We launched Paire after recognizing there is a human quality lacking in the real estate industry. Our aim is to help people realize and maximize the potential of home ownership and its ability to provide stability and, ultimately, generational wealth. We're motivated every day to help people navigate what can be an intimidating and complex space to see the joy and opportunity that comes with home ownership. On a personal note, we're continuously motivated by each other and our children to build the life we want for us and the future for them.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

As a new business, we're incredibly proud of the brand and the perspective we've built thus far. We've started to PAIRE people all over the US and have received some positive press around it in publications like Marketwatch and 400+ hyperlocal publications.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

It's easy to focus on and get caught up in the external validation that's important for businesses to survive in today's digital age, such as social media engagement, organic press coverage, etc. The important thing is to remember your vision and purpose in the business and stay focused on making progress toward that every day. There will be days when the progress is not obvious or tangible, but continuing down the path with a mindset of trial and error, keeps you focused on the bigger goal.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Coming from a background of the brand and knowing how crowded most marketplaces are today, it's critical to have a clear point of view of who you are as a brand through a defined personality, vision, core values, etc. All of the foundational systems that help to guide how you speak, who you speak to, and where you speak, is an imperative first step that makes your choices much clearer as you continue down the road.
  2. Align yourself with people that you trust and lift you up in authentic and helpful, candid ways, a network and support system of people that will cheer you on, give you helpful and necessary feedback, and share your idea when you're not in the room
  3. Starting a business--simply starting down the road with an idea/product that you wholeheartedly believe in--is something to be proud of and a feat most people don't do in their lifetimes. Keeping that pride and confidence in yourself and your vision when facing headwinds and hardship is a necessary muscle that you need to have or work on consistently to grow.
