Integrit Nutrition & Performance - Patryk Piekarczyk

Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in health and fitness but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Patryk Piekarczyk, Owner of Integrit Nutrition & Performance, located in Madison, WI, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

I own and operate an online based nutrition coaching and training business. I predominantly work with men in their 20s and 30s looking to lose stubborn belly fat and gain muscle so they can look, feel, and perform their best.

Tell us about yourself

I got a formal education earning my Bachelors in Dietetics in 2017 and a masters in nutrition and exercise science in 2019. There was a deficit in the dietitian profession, many dietitians knew nutrition but didn't understand exercise science or physiology, and many trainers knew how to train but didn't understand nutrition. I knew both had to be integrated to get the best results for body composition and health, so my mission with the business was to have the knowledge and then apply it to provide holistic lifestyle changes that would drive results. I'm motivated by the impact I have. Fitness and nutrition allow me to change people's lives. Hearing how people lost 50 or 100lbs or how they're more capable or happy humans keeps me going.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

I didn't think I'd be around this long. I was super scared of starting my own thing. I thought it was risky and time-consuming. I'm proud that I've been able to get this far, for the most part, on my own. I'm always consistently finding ways to provide a better service for my clients because, at the end of the day, that's what it's all about.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

Making time for the right things. It's difficult for me to focus, and I often want to do many things simultaneously.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Just do it; you'll never be ready.
  2. Learn marketing and how to speak to a specific audience. It may seem like it limits your reach, but it really just helps you get the clients you want and need.
  3. Leverage technology and always find ways to use it to improve systems and processes. Tech should help accelerate your business. Always be on the lookout for things that can make your admin work more efficient or provide clients with a more streamlined experience.
