Tell us about yourself

I was an ESL teacher for 25 years. I decided to change careers when I met Alan Clarke, my mentor, business partner, and now a great friend. I thoroughly enjoy the process of perfecting a document and 'tap dance' to work every day!

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

By far, my biggest accomplishment as the owner of Perfect Proofreaders is my team. Being able to work with such talented and inspiring people on a daily basis is a true privilege.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

Expect the unexpected! Business is about foreseeing problems and being prepared for them. Sometimes, issues arise that must be met with a sense of humour!

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Focus on one idea at a time.
  2. Build a great team around you.
  3. Laugh a lot along your journey!
