Tell us about yourself

I am a mother of two, a wife, and a business owner of two years. The corporate job I worked at for 6 years closed down, and we were all laid off. I never saw that as a setback, I saw it as an opportunity. Social media started as a form of entertainment during the pandemic and accelerated into much more. Two months after joining TikTok, my videos started going viral — 16 million views, 10 million views, and so on. It continues to grow, be successful, and act as a tool for amazing opportunities — both personally and professionally. I'm able to do something I love each day and use my creativity to make a difference. I'm motivated by the thrill of watching my clients grow and succeed. The opportunities social media can provide are endless.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

My biggest accomplishment as a business owner is going from a dreamer to a doer. I have created something from passion, and now - it's growing, succeeding, and making a difference.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

The hardest part of being a business owner is the unknown. Almost every day, there is a new obstacle or challenge presented to you. I have a full-time team and many clients that rely on me each day. There's no such thing as a 40-hour work week, PTO, or days off. Social media never sleeps, either.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Just start. Stop talking about what you want to do and do it. There will never be the perfect time to take the leap. The website or logo may not look perfect at the beginning, but you need to start.
  2. Leverage your social media - it is free marketing. If you can't hire a team, carve out time each week to create marketing material for your social media pages.
  3. Hire help immediately when you start growing. Many business owners try to take on all of the daily responsibilities, and it prevents the business from growing. Hire an amazing team and try them well.
