Finding Your Soul Realm - Power Up Your Life

Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in personal development but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Lilly White, Author & Spiritual Director of Power Up Your Life, located in Almonte, ON, Canada.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

Power Up Your Life is the work I do to help others know themselves. Power Up Your Life, The art of inspiration. I had a clothing business, THE WHITE LILLY, where I sold eco-friendly modal clothing made in Bali. I have been taking others yearly to Bali since 2003 on their own sacred spiritual journey. I closed the White Lilly after the deaths of our daughter, mother, and father in a short period of time. I then went home and wrote four books. Madness Addiction & Love, 365 Ways to Power up your life, Into the Heart of Bali, and Your 30-Day Challenge to Power Up Your Life workbook.

Tell us about yourself

I began my studies in 2002 with Caroline Myss, Sacred Contracts in Chicago. This work is based on understanding the difference between our fate and our destiny. I began teaching her work in 2004. In 2003 when I discovered Bali, I decided to take others on their own spiritual quest. We can have all we want and desire in our lifetime, but until we truly know ourselves, it is wasted on trivial discomforts. We are not on this planet because we deserve anything; we are here collectively to serve one another on our journey. The path can be difficult, so I started a spiritual group in 2007, Breakfast with Soul. We meet monthly to discuss difficulties, self-worth, and more. This group was also active during covid via zoom as more people needed validation and a spiritual companion in order to get through those rough days of the unknown. I have been the opening speaker for Caroline Myss, Dr. Mario Martinez, John Holland, Andrew Harvey, and others. Andrew Harvey was my special guest in Bali, 2017 -2018.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Helping others when they feel hopeless, especially when they are in grief. Losing my brother and our daughter to suicide was rough, but I have the tools for intuitive healing and have helped others. When I owned the White Lilly clothing store, my biggest accomplishment was seeing women who doubted themselves and their beauty inside /out finally accept who they are, not only through the beautiful clothing but the gorgeous soul of who they actually are. I sold Goddess on the GO clothing from Bali sizes XS to xxx3, so no matter the size, I had what they required. Seeing them walk out of the store in the wholeness of who they are, well, that was rich, and no amount of money made at that time can compare to witnessing their joy.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

If we live out passion, whatever that is, there is no difficulty, only lessons to embrace. What we do is in the flow. There is nothing worse than someone owning a business if they do not have the archetype of an entrepreneur. I was born into a family of entrepreneurs. Mother owned a dress shop and Dad a sporting goods store. We do not necessarily have to come from a family who is in business, but those who are serious will hear the call. They will not open just for the sake of having or owing a business, whatever that business is.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Do not take yourself so seriously or personally.
  2. Do not be afraid to take a risk.
  3. Be aware, never afraid, and live your dream one day at a time. This is your life; serve with passion.
