What's your business, and who are your customers?
Aloha We are a small women-owned and operated skincare business, Pure Mana Hawaii. Unique in that our carrier oil (organic macadamia nut oil) is grown, blended, and bottled by us on the Big Island. We carefully source ethically harvested ingredients to add to our pure and nutrient-rich macadamia nut oil from Mahina Mele Farm. Our skincare is for all types and is gender-neutral.
Tell us about yourself
Sue and I met through our children and the love for caring for the land here on the Big Island. When we experienced the macadamia nut oil on our skin, we knew we had to share this nutrient-rich and powerful ingredient that improved our skin health immediately and the skin of our youth. We wanted skincare without fillers, chemicals, or dyes for our families. We are continually motivated to share Pure Mana Hawaii skincare to all ages and genders. We know we are sharing Pure skincare with the Hawaiian Mana that is felt, noticed, and experienced.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
As a business owner for 5+ years, I'm proud of our persistence, our dedication, and passion. When you know something to truly be the best, when you have your hands and hearts in the entire process, it motivates us to share what we have created. When our customers continue to purchase our products over and over, we are confident that Pure Mana Hawaii is supporting great skin health naturally and elevating our skincare wisdom.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
The challenges of being a small business are numerous. There's always financial stress as your lift a company off the ground. Like the starving artist continues to create because they feel the need to share something with the world. We can relate as we push forward so that everyone can experience skincare that is truly pure and powerful nature.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Make sure you are passionate about what you are doing.
- Remember persistence; work toward your business every day.
- To grow the business, reach out to your local community, grassroots networking... sharing in person, and face-to-face communication help with the momentum of your business.
