Raja Coachx is a resume writing and life coaching company that works with individuals and job seekers. We prepare job seekers with the tools and coaching that articulate their career goals to achieve their dream job. We offer customized coaching in brainstorming and problem solving for individuals, professionals, or entry-level applicants looking for jobs or life coaching.

Tell us about yourself

My name is Rosalineda Griffith, and I am a professional resume writer and job coach. I am passionate about helping people. I am naturally good at that, and I enjoy making a difference in people's lives. I've always wanted to start my own business. But I never expected it to be in the consulting/coaching industry.

When the COVID-19 pandemic swept the globe, many individuals were forced to adjust to a new way of life. Among other things, loved ones were lost, as were jobs. For me, I lost my dream job. We were on lockdown, and I was 6 1/2 months pregnant with no work. That was one of the terrifying experiences of my life.

My clients included job seekers and people with disabilities. The ultimate goal was to assist them in obtaining integrated employment. It was a challenging but rewarding role. It devastated me when I lost my job. My business partner and husband, Albert Griffith, encouraged me to start a virtual employment service/coaching business. Our family initials inspired the name RAJA (Rosalineda, Albert, Jay, and Ari).

We placed the second part of the name, Coach, because it sounded nice next to RAJA, and we added the letter "X" to make it stand out. Our family motivates us to work hard every day to build a better brand and business for individuals and job seekers that is simple, affordable, and memorable.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

One notable achievement was how quickly word spread about our company. We received numerous inquiries, established new relationships, and gained and retained clients.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

The problem was that we couldn't decide which direction to take. We struggled to find our brand identity and figure out how to stand out. Learning about your industry and business before delegating tasks is important for becoming a small business owner. The outcome would be more favorable because you already know what works and what does not work for your company.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Do your market research.
  2. Understand your industry, target audience, and track trends.
  3. Be willing to fail and then get back up and try again tomorrow.
