Authentic Taiwanese Tea, Made Simple for You - Ranmu Xue

Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in food and beverage but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Ranmu (Maggie) Xue, Founder of Us Two Tea, Inc, located in New York, NY, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

Us Two Tea is an Asian-founded and owned tea brand that strives to make Asian tea culture more accessible to the people in the U.S. Sourced from family-owned farms in Taiwan; the tea is packaged in 100% sustainable tea sachets which can be conveniently brewed up to three times.

Tell us about yourself

After noticing a lack of widely known and distributed Asian-owned tea brands in the United States, I founded Us Two Tea with a clear mission to make Asian tea culture — and Asian culture at large — more accessible to discerning millennial consumers and tea lovers at large.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Meeting with like-minded people and working with amazing talents who share the same mission and vision for the brand.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

It's a very lonely journey. Your friends or family would not understand the stress or struggles you are going through. So it's important to meet other founders who are going through the same journey and share experiences.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Find a co-founder who compliments your skill set and, most importantly, who shares the same mission and vision as you. Because it's going to be a long and lonely journey.
  2. Hire the right people. They don't have to be the best at what they do, but they need to be willing put their heart and soul into this company.
  3. Always remember your why. There will be many lows and low lows in your journey; sometimes, you do feel like giving up or thinking, "What am I doing?" your "WHY" will give you faith to keep going even if you hit rock bottom.
