Achieve Your Performance Goals - Reimagine Leadership

Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in leadership development but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Julie Dupont, Owner of Reimagine Leadership, located in Cambridge, ON, Canada.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

We develop operational and strategic leaders at all levels (supervisors, managers, executives) and their teams so they can create a work environment that people actually want to be a part of. Whether through facilitation, coaching, or training, leaders had told us they noticed an increase in communication on their teams that wasn't present before we arrived - and that's a step in the right direction for us!

Tell us about yourself

Having worked in both corporate and consulting settings for 20 years, I decided that my skills and experience could be shared with so many more leaders who really value creating a fulfilling work environment for themselves and for their teams. I love facilitating, and given my energetic and engaging style, I get a real boost when I see the benefits of teams working together productively by collaborating more effectively.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

I would have to say that launching my business just as the pandemic started is a pretty big accomplishment! Since then, I've been able to design and launch my Reimagine Leadership program that addresses critical leadership topics like Emotional Intelligence, communication, delegation, and accountability. I'm also proud of the repeat clients I've built strong relationships with. It's great knowing that people's work lives are improving as a result of my knowledge and skill set.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

I didn't realize everything that was involved in being an entrepreneur - so much! So, I've learned to surround myself with people who are skilled and knowledgeable in the areas I'm not. By building a community of like-minded individuals and committing to learning as much as I can, I have found that I can achieve so much more than I realize. It takes a village to build a good business!

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Remember why you're in business. When the roller coaster of busyness comes, you'll be able to handle it better if you keep your 'why' top of mind.
  2. Be patient with yourself as you climb the learning curve - it's a steep one!
  3. Make it about relationships and not about money. The money will come, but the real value you'll get is from the relationships you'll build along the way.

Is there anything else you'd like to share?

Don't be afraid to reach out to other entrepreneurs. Chances are excellent that the challenges you face are shared, and having a community to support you is invaluable. If I can be helpful or supportive to you, please don't hesitate to reach out!
