What's your business, and who are your customers?

A Chick On The GO is a personal chef service on the GO! We started because of covid and people being uncomfortable having their chef come in to cook for them. So we began delivering meals to our clients. From there, we started to grow by doing more catering events. Our max catering event has been 300 people. So now, A Chick On The GO is a mixture of personal chef service and catering. I also own a restaurant located inside of Northtown mall called 2 Dope Chicks.

Tell us about yourself

I have been in the culinary industry for over ten years. I always knew I would end up cooking. It was always a childhood dream for me. My family is my motivation.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Just the continuous growth. It seems like every time I turn my head, I am growing more in my business, and having that growth is such an accomplishment.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

Finding staff. Seems like no one wants to work much, or I can't afford to pay the rate many people are looking for. So my husband and I split the time, which also takes away a lot of our family time.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Be consistent.
  2. Don't give up.
  3. Be open to change.
