What's your business, and who are your customers?
We make and sell healthy premium granola and breakfast cereals to people who want proper food, of all ages, and of all lifestyles who want good food.
Tell us about yourself
I came across great granola in Boston, USA, and saw the potential for good food. I researched the benefits of nuts and recognized that no one else was trying to provide the benefits inherent in nuts, so I created the business and listened to customers; I keep going because the goals remain the same, build an ethical, profitable business that has good healthy food and customer service at the center of everything we do.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Steadily building a team. Our business is all about people, our team, our consumers, our customers, and our suppliers; if our business is to be sustained, we need a team who has commitment and passion for offering great food and service.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
As we steadily get more and more experience, we understand what we need to change fundamentally is the need to adapt, collaborate and meet the challenges brought by our growth ambitions.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Understand what your product is worth.
- Make sure you can scale up, look ahead, and be ready for the next step.
- Try to generate sales across multiple channels.
Is there anything else you'd like to share?
Running a start-up is about perseverance; if you are going to grow, then the challenges only grow, make sure you can see how you will meet the challenges of being successful.
