What's your business, and who are your customers?
I am the creator and founder of Know Brainerz LLC, an organization that offers training, workshops, and classes for teens and adults. LEVEL UP Empowering Possibilities is a brand-new course curriculum that teaches empowerment through the science of the body and mind. Experiential, entertaining, and transformational, this engaging curriculum was created for private home use, after-school programs, youth groups, homeschooling communities, and adult classes. It's for the teen and the teen in all of us! My prime focus is training the facilitators. Just out the fun edutainment family game "Rephraseology" that teaches 4 relanguaging and feeling skills.

Tell us about yourself
Having a 20-year background in the supervision of 16 teen stores, I became enamored with the study of behavioral psychology and redefining the training process of the teen sector under my supervision. Experiential became the winning ticket, and I took my trainings to a collegiate level as an adjunct professor for several years before adopting several boys. A "self-proclaimed" brain nerd, I opened my home to women's classes with a friend, and the need and desire were off the charts. I missed my years in the trenches with youth and started holding youth retreats. My prime motivation... my own teens, and what better way to get them to listen to "mom's" creation than to surround them with a lot of fun teens! 3-day retreats were a good start, but I began writing down everything I wish I had known as a teen. After gleaning over 2000 pages of content, I boiled it down to 12 chapters, a transformational journey. Now anyone can train their circle of influence with the critical skills needed today to combat depression, anxiety, and overwhelm, heal the hurts in the subconscious and step into the creator of their life. Helping teens and adults gain control over their lives and hearing the stories of victory, awakenings, and huge life shifts make this all worthwhile. And yes... there is a LEVEL UP #2 and #3 ready to be written!
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Birthing a business comes with mental stretch marks, but oh boy, it is exciting to see your book and program in the tangible. It is even more incredible when you are leading your program and sees teens in tears as they have a huge breakthrough and their mother in your facilitator training tells you that the activity you just led her group through was the most transformational tool she has ever experienced. It's about the results... it's about the results! This is about changing lives, and I see it happen, and I hear the "you'll never believe this" stories.
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
Getting in front of my avatar, the homeschooler, the charter school, the enlightened families, the after-school programs, and the churches that lead youth. Anyone who has heard me teach some of the programs has jumped in with both feet. It's about getting my product out in front of those that want skills that will serve themselves and their children for life. This is Social, emotional, and physical intelligence on steroids. I love it when I'm connected with more contacts.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- When that burning passion and purpose keep bubbling up, the Universe is giving you a nudge!
- Don't think of obstacles as the end all; it's the resistance that either helps you rethink your strategy or know that you are on the right path.
- Talk to others that have walked a similar path, even if the product is different. They can help you foresee challenges and walk you through options.
