What's your business, and who are your customers?

Shanna Shryne Design is based in Los Angeles and specializes in residential and commercial design. With an extensive network of resources as diverse as our clientele, we've designed high-end homes, clubhouses, and retail stores coast to coast since 2011.

Tell us about yourself

Since youth, I've always had an artistic eye and been involved in the arts. I went to school for a degree in interior design and construction management. Upon graduating college, I was hired to work at a large interior design firm. I ultimately decided to move to Los Angeles and start my own firm. Our clients motivate me! We work side by side to achieve their design dreams.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Being in business since 2011 and having 2 retail storefronts, then going back to my roots of exclusive design services, growing my team, and working coast to coast.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

Juggling it all! I wear so many different hats - designer, bookkeeper, project manager, mentor...the list goes on and on!

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Get as much experience as possible while in school.
  2. No job is too small.
  3. Networking when you're starting out is crucial.
  4. Maintaining client relationships is key to bringing in repeat business and referrals.
