What's your business, and who are your customers?
I have trained 65,000 people around the world in breaking through obstacles and being who they came to this world to be. I am a radical fairy Godmother that makes dreams into reality - not a tagline - really.
Tell us about yourself
I did transformational work when I was about to turn 30, and my life radically shifted...quit my high-paying Washington, D.C. job because I saw people changing before my eyes - creating charities they had dreamed of, getting married or getting pregnant when they had given up, starting their own business and becoming wealthy. I was hooked. I literally get to show people themselves and how they are in the world so they can keep what they want and get rid of the rest.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
I feel that my biggest accomplishment is every person I've trained and living what matters to them. My success is other people being and doing what they want. I am elated when I get emails out of the blue telling me about what people are doing and expressing gratitude for their hard work in my workshops or retreats.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
I know it sounds crazy, but I hate doing the accounting. I have learned to remind myself to invoice because, in the early days, I would forget. Thank God for personal assistants.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
Be clear that most people are stopped by their obstacles. There will always be challenges. Commitment is not letting the challenges stop you but being so clear and intentional that those challenges only motivate you more. And when you make a commitment, keep it. That is your integrity, and it will become why people value you.
Is there anything else you'd like to share?
I feel honored to do the work I do. I know that all of us are doing the best we can, given what we know and the tools we have. When I can show someone areas where they are limiting themself in their beliefs, thinking, and being, and I see lightbulbs go off - it is amazing. And then when they practice moving awareness into action and results - that is incredibly gratifying.
