Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in real estate but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Susie Glass, Co-Founder of Simply, located in Miami, FL, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

We are a Miami-based, lifestyle-driven consulting + creative studio specializing in luxury real estate + new developments. We are experts in creating identities and marketing lifestyles for real estate developments with thoughtful programming and elevated design. We collaborate with visionaries to bring real estate projects to life by tastefully positioning real estate offerings to sophisticated audiences. We primarily work with high-profile real estate developers, entrepreneurs, stakeholders, and decision-makers.

Tell us about yourself

Simply was Co-founded by Susie Glass and Ilian Velasco in 2018 after working more than a decade as an executive in real estate development and creative arts industries. Our niche is our combined professional expertise in real estate development and fine art, which allows us to advise on how to launch a project to the marketplace as well as produce compelling creative campaigns while understanding the developer's complex risks, budgets, timelines, and sales goals. We are motivated by our strong work ethic and desire to add value to the overall project that increases the revenues for developers and creates great experiences for the users of each space.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

That we have been able to work alongside very high-profile clients and contribute in a meaningful way without any advertising or promotion, even our website requires an access code to view our portfolio. We value privacy and exclusivity.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

We love our work and don't feel anything is incredibly hard, but the hours are long, and as a business owner, you truly have no days off.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

If you plan to open your own business, 3 tips would be:

  1. Remain patient and do not compromise the integrity of your work or the type of work that you take on.
  2. Be prepared to work long days, nights, and weekends with little to no vacation, especially in the beginning.
  3. Delegate as much as possible to other professionals, such as accounting, so you can spend time doing what you do best.
