What's your business, and who are your customers?

Top-notch ingredients on a delicious mission to DRINK BETTER, Siponey is a super-premium whiskey spritz cocktail in a can.

Siponey are super-premium aged rye whiskey and honey-based canned cocktails made with real juice that are environmentally conscious from production to post-consumption. Built on a mission of sustainability from our supply chain to our environmental partners, Siponey contributes to honeybee awareness by specifically supporting private apiary expansion as our core mission. Siponey maintains partnerships with independently established non-profit honeybee organizations to drive awareness of the growing need to support honeybees as the first step in recovering the environment. These ethics were determined upon the incorporation of Siponey by founding leadership, me and Joseph Mintz.

Tell us about yourself

I am an award-winning leader in cocktail, spirits, and lifestyle communication, education, corporate environmental and social impact, and CPG / spirits product development with an experience spanning multi-decades.

I love breaking a sweat — anything I can do to get my heart pumping, from skiing to opting to take the stairs! Spirituality is a major component of my success in life thus far. Getting in touch with my purpose and finding my place in the world through meditation, nutrition, astrology, yoga, breathing, philosophy, and more are all priorities.

My daughter is the light of my life! Becoming a mother in today’s world means I’m striving to raise my daughter stronger than ever.

What moves you, either emotionally or motivationally?

I’m naturally very ambitious and passionate. As a younger woman, I struggled with the worry that nothing would ever be good enough. I’ve learned that by grounding my body and my mind by balancing endorphins and rest, I am able to get a lot further with my goals. Perseverance and grit have always been my formula — but I’ve learned rest is necessary for reflection and true success.

In 2019, I launched Siponey, a whiskey spritz that boasts “honeybee sustainability in a can,” made with the best ingredients. My work has been featured prominently in the media as an eminent wine and spirits authority, entrepreneur, and environmental activist.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

National distribution, seeing Siponey on shelves everywhere, being able to bring such quality and delicious recipe to a commercial scale, working with my family as a new mother amidst a global pandemic!

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

Rejection! But perseverance and grit, as well as making endorphins and meditation, are my strategies to push through it.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

Find a healthy outlet for rejection; perseverance and grit are the recipes for success; keep going!

Is there anything else you'd like to share?

I’m a game-changer, an innovator, and a trailblazer. I’ve been on a mission to change the way the world drinks since 2005, that has taken me around the globe! I think people deserve the best offerings of what they put in their bodies, whatever their choice. I’m a former hospitality professional making quality cocktails available on a commercial scale with decisions that are conscious of both people and the planet. My legacy is changing the way the world drinks, if even just a little bit. I’m the only Latina with majority ownership of a spirits company currently in the USA, and am up against the “big dogs“ every day.
