Live With More Freedom! - Sonja Franzmann

Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in personal development but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Sonja Franzmann, a health and wellness coach, based in Calgary, AB, Canada.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

For the past 17 years, I've been helping freedom-loving women radically transform their bodies, minds, and lifestyle. I'm their secret weapon as they move towards a body, life, and business that actually feels GOOD.

Tell us about yourself

I wasn’t always like this. You know, healthy, energized, purposeful. But, I went through my own health transformation 20 years ago – and it completely changed my life. And passionately drove me to help other women do the same.

The results from my own wellness journey took me from a size 14 to a size 4. And that was only a small part of the transformation – the bigger impact was finally having purpose, confidence, and drive to go for the life and business I wanted.

At last, I was comfortable and confident in my own skin – and it all started when I chose to prioritize myself. I have always had rockstar clients, and witnessing their epic results and transformations, easily keeps me going on this rewarding path of helping women skyrocket their lives.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

My biggest accomplishment is knowing how many women (and a few good men) I've helped completely transform themselves. Mindset, body, health, business, relationships - all of it. And in a way that feels pleasurable and sustainable for them. You won't find rules in my world, just freedom.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

I would be considered a perfectionist, which has been very challenging for me. I have worn so many hats in my business because I felt "no one can do (fill in the blank) as good as me," so I might as well do it myself. And, operating that way is a huge energy drain, as you know. I'm getting better at delegating my tasks to my team, but it's been baby steps!

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Invest in a coach or mentor who has accomplished what you want to accomplish, and more importantly, live the lifestyle you want to live. If you want to make $10,000 per month working 4 hours a day, find that coach. If you want to make $10,000 per month by creating Instagram reels for 8 hours a day, find that coach. That's just a quick example, but something many people don't think about. If your coach works 14-hour days and is completely burnt out, you could end up in the same boat.
  2. Take some time to decide what you really what to do in business. Not from your head but from your heart. What LIGHTS you up? What excites you? Follow the enthusiasm; it's a recipe for fulfillment and success.
  3. Set up your workdays in a way that works with your personality, lifestyle, and energy levels. This helps you stay inspired and focused instead of going about your day feeling scattered and stressed out.

Is there anything else you'd like to share?

Yes, you don't have to be the lone wolf. In 17 years of coaching women, the most common limiting belief that keeps people from living the life they desire is "I should be able to figure it out on my own." It doesn't matter how intelligent you are, get help, get support. We all need it. And it makes business so much more fun!
