Craft a Talk - Speaker Express

Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Elliot Kay, Co-Founder of Speaker Express, located in Budleigh, Devon, UK.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

We work with established entrepreneurs to become leaders & influencers in their sector using our 6-step strategy.

Tell us about yourself

After a successful corporate career in training, I discovered my purpose is to help people use their voices for good and to influence people of influence to stand out for the right reasons. Each day I am motivated to be a great dad and husband and to impact entrepreneurs globally.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Despite being dyslexic, he has written six books, two of them bestsellers, and this year being short-listed at The Business Book Awards, also launching The Speaker Awards.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

When times are hard and the economy is challenging, people drop their bags like a pair of stinky socks. Keeping going every day when the chips are down and no one seems to be buying while trying to put food on the table is the most difficult.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Understand that it is a marathon and not a sprint.
  2. To truly make a difference, you have to put in the hours, get muddy, and be ready for a roller coaster ride.
  3. Let off hype and focus on value, positioning, pitching, and partnerships.
