StayFRSH Enterprises - Fresh Redding

Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Fresh Redding, Founder of StayFRSH Enterprises, located in North Hollywood, CA, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

SFE is our umbrella company for everything that I produce and/or work on creatively. Dancing, choreography, event producing, apparel, or just as a consultant to build others' brands and projects.

Tell us about yourself

I started my journey knowing the end goal was to be a business/entertainment mogul. Admired by the relentless hustle and multi-talented Diddy, Jay-Z, and Garyvee, I've always seen myself in them. Using my one gift (dance) to be the driving force to open up a multitude of doors, which I had to kick down. It starts with me breaking generational curses, so that's what motivates me to keep going til the job is finished.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

I have two. Most people are afraid to do it themselves. So for one, I enjoy the fact that I have an amazing circle willing to risk it all and build the empire we dream of, creating an independent record label called Untitled Prodigies. Second is our Trap Poetry Jam and Cherry Pop Festival events because these establishments give a huge platform for emerging and established artists from all over the world to share their gifts.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

One of the hardest things is understanding that you are allowed to say "No." If it's not aligned with your business ethics, then it is ok. The hard part is following this rule, even if it's against your friends/colleagues. Finding the balance of that "no" not affecting your personal relationships.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Wake up early with a set schedule/checklist of productive things to do.
  2. Consistency is key, but do not burn yourself out. You are no good to yourself and others, tired!
  3. Never stop being a sponge. If you are the smartest person in the room, change rooms.
  4. Read books that you can apply to better your habits.
