What's your business, and who are your customers?
Step Sciences is a company that aims to provide a pain-free path to performance for all people. Our current service model is geared towards large-scale workplaces and their employees.
Tell us about yourself
From 2013-2018 I was part of the national bobsleigh team. Over the years, I experienced numerous injuries that led me to meet incredible practitioners. One such person surprised me with a clever way of getting more out of your feet. One gold medal later, the rest is history. The beginnings of the business itself have a lot to do with finding the right people to make the team. My Co-Founder, Mattew Bellia, was just that person, and I knew that our skills would complement each other and help us create something beautiful. The possibility of making something novel that will impact millions of people drives me each day. If we can help even one person feel less pain and get back to a high level of activity, then we have won.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
My biggest accomplishment to date is having survived starting our company during COVID. We have kept growing and have made great headway in gaining larger and larger clients.
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
There are many challenges that come with owning a business. The largest one is not losing hope. Having the courage to press on no matter how hard it gets takes a lot of hope.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- I'd say start by picking something that you are passionate about or knowledgeable about and find a way to bring a novel solution with it.
- Pick good people right off the bat to help support and guide you.
- Figure out how you will maintain a high level of customer service. This will pay off in huge long term.
