What's your business, and who are your customers?

I assist leaders at every level via workshops and/or one-on-one coaching to elevate their messages to maximize their ROI (Return on Influence) for sustainability and maximum retention.

Tell us about yourself

From starting my professional life as an educator to becoming the CEO of a technical services corporation that achieved a 5-year plan in 3 years and then leading a successful merger into a larger corporation, to finally starting my own company as a speaker/trainer, coach, and consultant, I have always been a people person!

By working with leaders to be more understandable, I encourage them to take care of their people and focus on the culture of their teams by sharing their personal experiences that resonate more effectively with the experiences of their team members. The experience doesn't necessarily have to be business related, per se, as long as it has a logical, practical point that has a universal connection in the minds and hearts of their team members.

When someone I'm working with says things like, "I never thought about it that way," "This makes so much sense," or "I never realized communicating this way could be so powerful," it motivates me every day to "practice what I preach" and to go deeper in organizations to assist them in integrating this methodology into their daily operations.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Seeing organizations change their cultures and daily operations to reflect a more logical, practical, and inspirational type of communication. Coincidentally this often leads to better productivity and higher profitability!

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

As a solopreneur, it is sometimes difficult to stay on top of my own day-to-day operations. Keeping up with the ever-changing challenges of technology runs a close second and is definitely part of daily operational challenges!

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Understand the "why" behind your rationale for starting a business.
  2. Outline the practical challenges you are prepared to commit to in both the short and long term.
  3. Surround yourself with colleagues and mentors who will give you honest feedback and help you reach new levels of success.
