Taste of Sweet Heaven - Sweet Bites Galore

Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in food and beverage but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Kianna Francois, owner of Sweet Bites Galore, located in Long Island, NY, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

I own a vegan-based baked goods company. Specializing in cookies & breads! Everything is made from natural ingredients for a plant-based lifestyle.

Tell us about yourself

I started baking when I was a child. When I got laid off from my job during the quarantine, I started baking using different ingredients since everything at the stores was sold out, and that’s how I stayed in a plant-based realm. My four-year-old son is what keeps me going and striving for more, especially when things get tough.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

I have my products in cages on Long Island and have a customer base from doing pop-up shops through the summertime and now through winter soon!

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

Staying positive when things die down throughout the year. Things are not always going to be on the up and up, and it’s tough to deal with that, but you have to use that downtime to grow in other areas of business. It’s still a win-win!

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Stay consistent- things may not look how you want them all the time, but your dream will eventually happen as long as you stay at it.
  2. Keep learning- read up on your niche, look for mentors, etc.
  3. Stay humble- you’ve never “arrived,” you can always learn and grow in what you’re business is.
