Tell us about yourself

What first got me started working on my online coaching business was my passion for swimming and my desire to share my knowledge and experience with others. I have been a competitive swimmer for over 15 years and have been coaching for the last ten years. I have always been passionate about the sport and have a deep understanding of the techniques, training, and mental aspects required to swim at a high level. I started off by creating a small online training program, blog, and YouTube channel to share my tips and drills with others. I quickly realized that there was a demand for this kind of training, and I decided to take it to the next level and launch my own business.

What motivates me each day to do what I do, is the satisfaction of seeing the progress of my clients, their achievements, and the positive impact that my coaching has on their lives. I take great pride in helping swimmers of all levels to improve their technique, build strength and endurance, and reach their goals. I also enjoy the challenge of creating innovative and effective training programs and the opportunity to work with a wide range of clients. Seeing the progress of my clients and the positive impact of my coaching on their lives is the most rewarding aspect of my job.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

I have built a large and engaged online community of swimmers. I created a website, YouTube channel, and social media accounts where swimmers can access my training resources, ask me questions, and connect with other swimmers. My loyal following of swimmers has achieved notable results from using my online resources.

I developed an online training program that is widely recognized as one of the best in the industry. I created a comprehensive program that includes video tutorials, written instruction, and interactive training tools. My program is designed to help swimmers of all levels improve their technique, build strength and endurance, and reach their goals.

I have been featured in several prominent publications and websites. This has helped to raise my profile and attract new clients. I have built a successful revenue stream through various means, such as online coaching sessions, courses, membership, and merchandise sales. I have been able to grow my revenue consistently, and I have been able to sustain my business through different business models.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

One of the hardest things that come with being a business owner is achieving and maintaining a steady stream of revenue. This can be challenging because it requires not only delivering a quality product or service but also effectively marketing and promoting it to the right audience. In my case, it requires that I create new content that keeps swimmers engaged and attracts new viewers. This can be time-consuming, so time management is also a challenge. Additionally, it requires being able to adapt to market changes and being able to pivot in order to find new revenue streams. It also requires keeping the expenses low enough to allow for profit, which can be hard when the business is growing. It's also important to manage cash flow and make strategic financial decisions. Overall, it's a constant effort to balance income and expenses to ensure the sustainability of the business.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Understand your target market: Conduct thorough market research to understand your target audience, their needs, and how your product or service can meet those needs. YouTube has been an excellent resource for understanding and studying your target audience and what they need help with. This knowledge will help you make informed decisions about your marketing, pricing, and overall business strategy.
  2. Utilize digital marketing: In today's digital age, it's important to have a strong online presence. Utilize various digital marketing strategies such as social media, email marketing, and search engine optimization to reach your target audience and build a loyal customer base. Remember, "content is king!"
  3. Stay agile: The business world is constantly changing, and it's important to be able to adapt to new trends, technologies, and market conditions. Stay open to new ideas, be willing to take calculated risks, and be prepared to pivot your business model if necessary. Be also ready to manage your finances and expenses in an efficient manner.
  4. Self-sufficiency: As an online business owner, it is important to be able to handle a variety of tasks, from marketing and sales to accounting and customer service. This will not only help you to save money by not having to hire staff for every task, but it will also give you a better understanding of your business and the ability to make more informed decisions. Additionally, having a diverse set of skills will also make you more adaptable to changes in the market and in your business. This will help you to be more independent and to have better control of your business.
