What's your business, and who are your customers?

Tell us about yourself
I have always wanted to own my own business. I started off owning a brick & mortar women's boutique for four years. I learned that I loved helping women pick out and put together the perfect gifts for different occasions. In 2017, I pivoted, and the boutique evolved into Luxe & Bloom and the online gift box business that it is today. I love being able to help keep people connected through gifting - whether it be for a friend's birthday, for a client gift, or even sending someone who's going through a hard time something to let them know you're thinking about them. Gifts can make a huge impact, and I'm so thankful that I get to be a part of helping make someone's day.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
This year we created corporate gift boxes for Wyndham Hotels. That was pretty surreal and really fun to work on!
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
One of the hardest things about being a business owner is wearing all of the hats. I've had to learn to do so many different things that come along with owning an online business. You're in charge of marketing, ads, customer service, accounting, fulfillment and shipping, SEO, website design, and the list goes on and on. While I enjoy learning new skills, it, at times, can become overwhelming.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Get clear about who you are as a brand and who you are serving.
- Don't wait until it's perfect to start. If you do, you'll never start. You will constantly be learning and improving as you go.
- Don't try to do it alone. There are many small business classes and groups available. They have helped my business tremendously and are great for asking questions and bouncing ideas off of each other.
