Find Peace, Joy & Alignment - The Accrescent

Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in health & wellness but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Leigh Ann Lindsey, Founder of The Accrescent, located in Dana Point, CA, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

I help clients clear limiting patterns like self-sabotage, chronic stress, phobias, low self-worth, and more through a technology called EVOX Therapy. EVOX is a combination of voice mapping and biofeedback technologies that allow us to identify imbalanced emotions and output the frequencies that help support the releasing and balancing of those emotions. During this process, I work with clients to determine the subconscious beliefs that are attached to the repressed emotions. As we clear energetic and subconscious blocks, clients are able to step into more peace, joy, confidence, and alignment. I work with a wide variety of individuals from ages 18 - 75 on any number of topics. Some look to EVOX Therapy to help clear phobias (like flying, needles, driving), others are looking for support in releasing the adverse effects of trauma (sexual abuse, physical abuse, traumatic accident, etc.), and still, others are looking to find freedom from chronic anxiety, depression, and negative patterns they feel stuck in.

Tell us about yourself

The catalyst to launching The Accrescent began in early 2020 when, at 25 years old, I had a breast cancer scare. Thankfully, I was able to connect with aligned doctors, one of which suggested I do something called EVOX Therapy in combination with the many others treatments and modalities that were a part of my protocol. This doctor emphasized how important emotional wellness was and how often unresolved trauma can actually be a cause of disease. In short, EVOX Therapy completely changed my life. A year later, the lightbulb finally clicked that this was something I could actually offer to the world and continue to spread healing through this powerful modality. I launched The Accrescent in June of 2021, and I have never felt more joy, peace, and alignment!

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Truly, continuing to do my own personal healing each and every week. "Accrescent" means "continual growth, ever-growing," and this word embodies my personal and professional philosophy: that I want to be ever-growing in all areas of my life. I do EVOX Therapy on myself every single week and continue to peel back my own layers of subconscious blocks through daily emotional work. This commitment to personal growth is what allows me to show up for clients fully, as well as continue to pursue bigger and bigger dreams!

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

Two immediately come to mind. First is the work/life balance. When I first launched, I was worrying about my business from the moment my eyes opened in the morning until the moment I fell asleep at night. I quickly had to tell myself that when I run a business, there will always be something to do, so I can't keep going into each day trying to work until there is nothing left. Accepting that allowed me to create some boundaries around work and continue to move forward with much more peace and clarity! Second, your business can so often be like a mirror, reflecting back the areas of your personal self that have room for growth. I don't run away from this mirror but rather towards it. I use it as a tool to guide my own personal growth, and as I continue to grow as an individual, so too has my business grown.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Get clear on why you want to start a certain business. Is it because this thing truly lights me up, or am I searching for validation, self-worth, etc.? Follow what sets your soul on fire.
  2. Commit to personal growth; your business is a reflection of you, your inner world, your self-worth, etc. If you are feeling stagnant, use your business as a mirror to reflect on what areas of yourself you can continue to work on.
  3. Follow your gut and what lights you up. Does your business bring YOU joy? What is your gut telling you to do about that one decision? Success isn't always logical; follow what your intuition is telling you, even if it goes against the grain.
