Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in a beverage but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Marvin Attiq, Co-Founder & CEO of The  Bottle Haus, located in San Diego, CA, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

Bottle Haus is an e-commerce platform specializing in the sale of alcoholic beverages. Our extensive selection of over 3000 products includes a diverse range of unique, rare, and hard-to-find options, catering to sophisticated customers across 42 states in the United States. With a focus on providing an unparalleled shopping experience, we have built a loyal customer base of individuals over the age of 21 who are seeking high-quality, carefully curated products. Our company has been in operation for the past three years, and we are constantly striving to improve and expand our offerings.

Tell us about yourself

The inception of Bottle Haus was inspired by the unprecedented circumstances of the COVID-19 pandemic, which prompted widespread lockdowns and a shift towards remote work and leisure activities. Recognizing the potential for an increase in at-home consumption of alcoholic beverages, I launched the business on March 17th, 2020. To my delight, the response was overwhelmingly positive, with sales and traffic skyrocketing in the ensuing months.

As the owner and operator of Bottle Haus, my motivation is fueled by the satisfaction of our customers. The positive feedback we receive through reviews, social media posts, and direct communications with our customer service team serves as a constant source of encouragement and drives me to continue striving for excellence in all aspects of the business. It is a privilege to be able to provide a valuable service and bring joy to others through the products we offer, and I am committed to continually growing and improving Bottle Haus to the best of my ability.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

My biggest accomplishment as a business owner has been successfully navigating the challenges and uncertainties of the COVID-19 pandemic to not only sustain but grow my business. In a year marked by widespread economic disruption, being able to adapt and thrive is a significant accomplishment that I am proud of. In addition to maintaining steady sales and expanding our customer base, we have also grown our team and operations. Despite the difficulties posed by the pandemic, we were able to bring on new team members and expand our distribution network to meet the demands of our customers. This growth would not have been possible without the resilience, hard work, and dedication of our team, and I am grateful for their contributions to the success of Bottle Haus.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

One of the hardest things that come with being a business owner is the constant need to wear many hats and juggle multiple responsibilities. As the owner, you are responsible for the overall vision and direction of the company, as well as the day-to-day operations and management of the business. This can be a lot to handle, and it is important to have a strong support system in place to help you navigate the challenges that come with entrepreneurship.

Another difficult aspect of being a business owner is building and maintaining a strong community of customers, employees, and other stakeholders. Establishing a sense of belonging and connection is crucial for any business, but it can be especially challenging in the digital age. It requires consistent effort and engagement to foster a sense of tribe and community, and it can be difficult to keep people engaged and connected over time. However, the rewards of building a strong community are well worth the effort, as it can lead to increased loyalty, advocacy, and overall success for the business. I love what I do and wouldn't trade it for the world.
