What's your business, and who are your customers?

The Confident Coach Mentor Program is a unique confidence-building experience. The program help coaches deepen their understanding of the updated ICF Core Competencies and provide a path to masterful coaching skill development no matter what level of ICF credential they hold. It offers experiential mentor coaching group or individual programs to help accelerate your growth as a professional coach and give your clients even more transformative results.

Tell us about yourself

After 10+ years of coaching and compelled to reach the next level of credentialing - my master-certified coach (MCC). This realization came with doubt and overwhelmed me. I had so many questions about what was required. What's the difference between my coaching versus masterful coaching? Are my coach training skills still relevant? Where can I get helpful feedback to improve my coaching skills? Transforming my doubts and listening to coaching recordings with constructive feedback gave me a new perspective. It helped me leverage what I'd learned in training and bolster my understanding of coaching skill mastery. It occurred to me that other coaches may need this support too. So I founded The Confident Coach.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

I realize now that the benefit of a coach training journey is more about self-discovery and growth than actual coaching expertise. Coach training took me to a place of powerful realization and new perspectives on old ways of thinking. It was the most transformational journey I've ever been on. That experience inspires me to help others, and I am excited about the possibilities from my new perspective.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

The coaching business can be isolating. I miss the collaboration that occurs between teams. Fortunately, I utilized networking communities to stay connected with other coaches and my clients.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Use your contacts to help spread the word about what you do.
  2. Don't get overly preoccupied with coaching niche and marketing plans - it all comes together as it should.
  3. Keep it simple to start.
