What's your business, and who are your customers?
I own The Educated Pelvis, LLC. I am a Pelvic Health Physical Therapist specializing in adults with a vulva and pediatrics. I assist in healing post-pregnancy and birth and offer treatment for all pelvic health dysfunctions. My clinic is located in Westerville, OH, and I also offer home visits and telehealth check-ins.
Tell us about yourself
When I birthed my kids in Copenhagen, Denmark, I was able to experience the wonders of universal healthcare. Within weeks, I had multiple healthcare providers supporting me in my home, where I cared for my babies. I want to offer the same for my patients. I want to meet my patients where they are - to support and empower their healing through treatment and education. After experiencing many pelvic dysfunctions I treat, I decided to specialize in pelvic health. We need more providers who are comfortable talking about and treating the pelvic floor to fill in the gaps in the healthcare system.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
My biggest accomplishment as a business owner so far has been to educate the community and help normalize conversations about postpartum healing and common pelvic dysfunctions.
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
One of the hardest things for me as a single-member business owner is not having other voices or opinions to bounce ideas and best practices off. This is why my mentors are so valuable to me!
