What's your business, and who are your customers?

We are a business front-to-back door solutions team of consulting specialists. Our customer base is primarily other business and government organizations. Most of our calls have to do with problem assessment and solution, large system and data analysis, and expansion project management.

Tell us about yourself

Opportunity. Having been an executive manager for years, the opportunity came to start one business, which led to adding a 2nd and a 3rd, etc.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Surviving and growth. Most business owners will claim this or that, but realistically if one's business can survive the first couple of years and then grow in size and scope. That's an achievement in the macro sense. In a micro sense, the satisfaction of saving some of our client's businesses from closure through assessment and planned efficiency restructuring.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

The clock never stops turning. The ability to leave it at work. Any business owner feels the pressure to always be involved, be present, and be working. Having the ability to 'turn off' is critical long-term.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Prepare for the hours of work required.
  2. Always know when you are past your depth and ask someone smarter than you for advice.
  3. Love the challenges of it. Welcome them, relish in them, and have fun!
