Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in personal development but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Steph de Chalus, Founder of The Reinvention Edit, located in London, UK.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

My business is called The Reinvention Edit, and I coach women who are feeling lost and have a desire for change in their life but don't know where to start! My solutions provide women with inspiration, confidence, and clarity so they are ready to achieve their dreams and goals in the next chapter of their lives.

Tell us about yourself

I experienced a life event 8 years ago that shattered my confidence and identity. I was the epitome of someone who seemed to have the "perfect" life when in reality, my life was unraveling due to circumstances outside of my control. This somber period was the catalyst for change, and I underwent my own reinvention journey to reconnect with myself, overcome my fears and make my desires a reality. After qualifying as a coach, I feel honored that my work helps other women, and I am proof you can change your life for the better, and you always have a choice to do so.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Taking my business from a dream to making it a reality through my website and Instagram launch. Every client I have worked with has felt like a big accomplishment when I witness their transformation.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

After leaving my corporate job, where I had always been part of and managed a team, the reality of working for yourself was a huge transition. Even though I felt prepared, the change in routine and environment took a little while to get used to.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Research your industry and plan ahead - what qualifications/tech/finances do you need to start?
  2. Who is your ideal client, and what problem are you looking to solve or a solution to provide for them? Be really clear on what it is and how you will help them.
  3. Be consistent and genuine with your messaging. Potential clients need to get to know you, like you and trust you before they consider buying your service(s).
