Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Yanyn San Luis, Founder of The Win Woman, located in Miami, FL, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

We help forward-thinking nonprofit organizations and corporate foundations maximize revenue, impact, and effectiveness. Turn-key fundraising campaigns, Strategic Partnership Development, Donor + Board Activation, Re-orgs/Restructuring.

Tell us about yourself

I love running my mouth and closing deals. Whether raising millions of dollars for nonprofits and political campaigns or selling for corporate America, I love to close deals. I like the chase, building relationships, understanding when people are ready, making the case, all of it.

What motivates me is the more money we make, the more we can give back to the community and nonprofits that are on the front lines of making the change. That's what gets me out of bed in the morning.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Our biggest accomplishment is being able to add brilliant women team members through an ongoing pandemic and worldwide. I'm proud of our team's diversity and skillset that helps us bring a unique value to add to the clients we serve.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

It's lonely if you don't have a community. You need a business owner community to bounce ideas with.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Join an existing community for entrepreneurs/business owners.
  2. Find the local SBDC (Small Business Development Center); they can help you with free resources to scale your business.
  3. Read Traction and implement the tactics - this was the secret to our success and scaling.

Is there anything else you'd like to share?

You don't have to be making millions of dollars to make an impact in your community, I would encourage others to think of the social impact they want to make and the legacy they want to leave behind.
