What's your business, and who are your customers?

The Workshop Pilates is a contemporary Pilates Studio located in the McCormick Ranch neighborhood of Scottsdale, Arizona. Our Studio services all types of clients, but mainly women from the ages of 25-55.

Tell us about yourself

The Workshop Pilates was created by myself and my business partner, Ariel Schwartz. We wanted to create an elevated environment that provided a great workout and community support. We are highly motivated by providing the highest level of care and attention to our wonderful clients.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

We opened the studio 3 months before being shut down due to COVID. It was a challenging first year, to say the least, but we have persevered and come out stronger.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

When you are a business owner, there is always work to do, and there are no set hours. Learning to set your own boundaries around your work and input is key, or you could truly work 24hrs a day.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. The passion for what you do will diminish due to the day-to-day requirements of running a business. Pick something you love AND that you are naturally good at.
  2. Surround yourself with the right people and employees. Bad apples spoil the whole bunch.
  3. Make every decision with the customer experience in mind, even the little things.
