What's your business, and who are your customers?

THRIVE by Kathy Fielder is a concierge marketing, retail placement, and product development firm.

THRIVE becomes your marketing department. We work closely with our clients to strategize and take your brand to the next level with a multi-channel marketing plan, including cohesive brand representation, successful retail strategies, a well-rounded social media plan, social media influencer relationships, and digital marketing tactics.

THRIVE and our retail strategy team, led by CEO Kathy Fielder, utilize long-standing connections with major retailers to achieve success in retail placement. In her 25-year career, Kathy, a seasoned on-air professional on QVC, has worked with several major retailers, including Neiman Marcus, Amazon, QVC, One Kings Lane, Tuesday Morning, and Wayfair, to name a few.

Tell us about yourself

I pride myself on staying ahead of trends and being an industry leader. I believe my vision, unique voice, and style have helped propel me in the fashion, lifestyle, and design fields. My branded, on-air label for QVC (Fielder Home) has been one of my most exciting projects. My bespoke bedding line Isabella Collection by Kathy Fielder, which was proudly designed and manufactured in the USA, boasts many awards, such as one of the top and longest-running bedding collections at Neiman Marcus & Horchow. Kathy Fielder Boutique, with locations in both Dallas and New Orleans, is a curated, affordable lifestyle and fashion boutique. My design firm, Kathy Fielder Design | Life | Style, is dedicated to creating beautiful spaces for modern-day life. The knowledge base these ventures have created is vast and has helped to cultivate my newest venture – THRIVE by Kathy Fielder, whose main focus is marketing and branding, along with retail placement.

Through these outlets, along with my social media presence, my goal is to inspire and curate on-trend original content for a well-lived life.

Another tenet of my brand is philanthropy. I pride myself on participating in and supporting my community both philanthropically and socially. Using my contacts and voice to stand up for those who can’t and impact our society for the better is an important passion of mine.

I also believe it is of the utmost importance to empower women entrepreneurs and professionals in the workplace and support small business owners, as they are the backbone of our community.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

My biggest accomplishment as a business owner is my licensed on-air line for QVC, Fielder Home. Being on air with the likes of the Property Brothers and Catherine Zeta-Jones (to name a couple) was a thrilling (and a little nerve-wracking!) experience.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

Navigating the current culture and marketplace as a business owner while staying relevant and building your social media presence takes an acute and savvy awareness of your brand. Learning to make decisions that grow your relationship with your customer base by telling your story and really knowing what your goals are, and “sticking to the plan” takes focus and determination.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Don’t give up. Put one foot in front of the other every day and focus on the prize.
  2. Have a strong team behind you that has strengths that you don’t have.
  3. Work smarter while you work harder than everyone else.
