Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in personal development but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Tiffany Grimm Fulton, founder of Mothers Moving Mountains, located in Lakewood, CO, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

My business is to create a sacred space for mothers to experience transformation and reconnection within a supportive circle of like-minded mamas while immersed in the power of nature. I believe that when we reconnect to ourselves, each other, and nature, we can reignite our creative magic for ourselves and a more positive future for our children. I offer local Colorado and international one-day, weekend, and week-long retreats for mothers.

Tell us about yourself

I moved to Colorado when my son was nine months old and quickly realized I was missing a solid circle of friends who understood my personal challenges. I was also finding a new identity as a "mama" but also wanting to maintain my identity as a "woman" full of creativity and vitality. So Mothers Moving Mountains was born out of my devotion to maintaining sovereignty in the quest of motherhood, the desire to cultivate an unwavering sisterhood of support and love, and the longing to influence a compassionate and accepting community that would set our children up for a positive and fulfilling future. I am continuously motivated by the diverse magic I see in nature and in this community of mothers each day. There is so much power that moves through each of us, and I am passionate about helping each mama recognize her greatness and actualize her most wild visions.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Building a community from the ground up with trust in the integrity of organic growth and deep connection.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

Deciding what's next! I have so many ideas that rise up that sometimes it's hard to decide which one wants to happen first. Taming my own ambition as a 'team of one' is also a challenge as I only have so much time and resources to move the ideas out into the world.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Know what grounds you and drives your vision forward. Stay connected to it in everything you do.
  2. Know your strengths and hire out for the things you know you don't want to do. Don't spend time doing things you can't stand.
  3. Trust in your power. Only you know your truth. Look to others for guidance and support, but always know in your heart that you have all the answers you need.
