Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in health and fitness but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Tim Humphrey, owner of WolffPakFitness, located in Munster, IND, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

My fitness company strives to teach the core principles of how to build and maintain your physique. To also build a healthy relationship with food and not go on the hard-core diets that simply do not work well with each individual.

Tell us about yourself

I have been an athlete since grade school in just about every sport, and I understand the importance of keeping the body in motion regardless of what your goals and age are. It's no secret that at any given moment, we could have some rampant disease spread across the world in an instant. I wake up bright and early every morning, doing my part to spread the message that health is wealth. That we must take care of the one thing we have, not just for our sake but for our neighbors and future members who will take their first breath on this planet one day.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

I would say being able to survive and thrive during the pandemic. I was recently invited to participate as the Head fitness coach for a six-week fitness program for the HardRock Casino brand in my township. It was a success.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

When it comes down to it, I quickly realize that building and maintaining my business must come as a selfless act. The business is like a newborn that requires constant attention, and if you want your brand to succeed, you must put the time and dedication into it, or it will wither away. You must be obsessed.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. First and foremost, love what you do. It's kind of hard to wake up every day and do something just for the money.
  2. Be Patient, and don't be scared to fail. Big brand companies don't grow overnight and frankly wouldn't have survived if it wasn't for them trying things and seeing what worked and what didn't.
  3. Have fun. It's as simple as that. Your putting a product or idea out to the world that is an expression of you, so give it all you got and have fun with it.

Is there anything else you'd like to share?

If your ever wondering when's the right time to start your business? I will say this. I always wanted to start my business; I just didn't know how to proceed. Find a mentor in your field and do a lot of self-studying. Become the best at what you do. Never be complacent and think you know it all. There is always something to learn.
