What's your business, and who are your customers?

I provide career consultations and career development support for all members of the community from diverse industries, including but not limited to engineering, healthcare, and education.

Tell us about yourself

I first started out at a non-profit that supported the career advancement of young people from marginalized communities back in 2010. Later, my work propelled me to take on the role of a career advisor at a local university, where I strengthened my practice. Through my previous role, I was able to work closely with local and global organizations, hiring managers, and recruiters and support different people with their career journeys. My family and friends motivate me to do what I do.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

I had the opportunity to speak at a seminar and provide career tips for university students across Southeast Asia! It's always been a goal of mine to marry my love for education with my career advising background.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

I have to wear multiple hats, including being my own marketer, editor, researcher, and so on and so forth. My goal is to expand and grow my team in the next few years.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

Sometimes, you have to take that leap of faith. It's not always going to be perfect, but you can learn through trial and error what works and doesn't work for you!
Look towards others who are doing what you want to do and reach out. Ask questions!
Be authentic to those you work with, to those you serve, and to yourself.
